2004-08-15 [SeLoCeS]: yes that is so you read the rules first
2004-08-15 [SeLoCeS]: realistic is drawn good luck for another week
2004-08-16 [Tári Nénharma]: SeLoCeS, my thoughts exactly. The link is from the rules page.
2004-08-16 [To Make You Think]: If any of the Arena bosses know what's going on with To Make You Think (or if anyone has any comments) please let me know! The page hasn't been updated and the poll is wrong...
2004-08-16 [LonelyTylenol]: To whoever's been changing all of the unchanged ones, THANK YOU...
2004-08-16 [Kayne]: *freaks out , I'm incharge of that but couldn't do it :s , By this I apoligize to everyone , and the one who took my place , If the password isn't changed allready I will do it next week , again sorry :s
2004-08-16 [LonelyTylenol]: Well, I didn't change mine... So, I really feel it neccessary to apologize... Anyways, I've kind of been neglecting my duties a lot lately.
2004-08-23 [Tári Nénharma]: Wow, only two of them are updated. The arena mods need to talk to me, please... because there are people waiting in line to be trained! Thanks everyone.
2004-08-26 [SeLoCeS]: if people dont have time anymore for there sites contact me and i will do it as i have fixed my computer problems and have time to change any part of this wiki.
2004-08-26 [Nightshadow]: ...though for sanity's sake, just contact Tari and she'll assign a new mod.
2004-08-30 [LonelyTylenol]: Seloces, have you been trained in?
2004-09-03 [Melody_Rain]: the poem duling arena needs to be updated soon, please
2004-09-03 [SeLoCeS]: i control realistic, so yes i have been trained
2004-09-04 [Nightshadow]: It will be updated Sunday, Melody_Rain, like it's always (supposed to) be. Huh...I only just now realized I didn't edit last week. That's the first I've missed in...ever. O.o
2004-09-04 [Melody_Rain]: hehe we all make mistakes
2004-09-04 [LonelyTylenol]: Didn't realize that, Seloces. mm-kay. I think I'm going to put up a big reminder on Saturday for everyone to change theirs the next day... Probably more for my own sake than anyone else's though, to be honest...
2004-09-04 [cowsgomoo14245]: ....
2004-09-04 [pegasus1000]: I have a sugustion for the Dwels. I find that when there is a long poem and a short poem dweling that people may not select the long poem because they are either to lazy to read, (this is ofcorse speculation,) but perhaps someone should do some research as to if this is corect.... Has anyone else noticed this?? or am I wrong??
2004-09-05 [Nightshadow]: No, I'm pretty sure you're right, pegasus. I've noticed it too. However, I don't see much solution. "Long Poems" is a pretty lousy category, and there aren't enough poems to go around even as it is, so we can hardly make an extra-long section of each category.
2004-09-05 [LonelyTylenol]: The simplest answer is to tell people not to vote until they've read the entire poem. Yeah, less people would vote, but I'm sure there'd still be plenty of votes. Oh, that reminds me... I need to remind myself of something really quickly...
2004-09-05 [Nightshadow]: Lovely. You know, individual messages would have been much more effectual.
2004-09-05 [adnihilo]: I'm not quite sure if this has anything to do with legolas's reminder but at least one duel was supposed to change bout a week ago and I was just wondering if that was done on purpose
2004-09-05 [Dil*]: wow.
2004-09-06 [LonelyTylenol]: Yeah... It's a big reminder... Btw, I'll be sure to remind Tari to update the Duelist Submissions page soon... So, I guess that means... Oh, wait... Today was Sunday... Crud. Well, places waiting for challengers... I'm sorry... Well, I'll talk to Tari. And, I suppose I can update the places that need to be updated...
2004-09-06 [Doormat]: heh, don't abuse < huge> or the guards will get pissed :P
2004-09-06 [Nightshadow]: The guards only "get pissed" if they get a complaint, or are irked by something themselves, and have good cause to start something. *shrugs*
2004-09-06 [Doormat]: meh, tis been done before
2004-09-06 [Nightshadow]: Yes, and tis been reported before. If someone explained the problems we've been having with this wiki, there wouldn't be problems.
2004-09-06 [LonelyTylenol]: huh?
2004-09-06 [LonelyTylenol]: Okay... I've updated quite a few categories that aren't mine... But I haven't updated Sci-fi. Sorry, but it's not happening. I wasn't supposed to come on at all tonight... And, as for the large message, I think that it's... Well, We'll ask Tari if she thinks we should have it deleted. I will if she doesn't have to powers to, realizing that Tal isn't on much anymore. Umm... Yeah... If sci-fi isn't updated by tomorrow night, I'll take care of it, but that doesn't mean that whoever's in charge of it shouldn't do it themselves...
2004-09-06 [LonelyTylenol]: I also didn't update any that weren't on this page's list...
2004-09-06 [Nightshadow]: *blinks* Well folks have another two hours to update on your own...I hope you checked what times zones mods live in.
2004-09-06 [Nightshadow]: (When I havent just finished moving) I usually do that from my midnight until about 1:30...some folks log on and do it late. Which is fine. *shrugs*
2004-09-06 [Tal Anduril]: Sci-fi has been updated, I also went through and cleaned up a few things as best I could. Fantasy, Nature and Sad now have challengers for next Sunday. (Not really sure who's in charge of sci-fi, when I left no one had been assigned to it.) I don't own this page, I'm not sure who does, probably one of the ones who created it... [SeLoCeS] might know; but if it belongs to the person I think it does, then we're not likely to ever have control of the page (as that person was banned).
2004-09-07 [Tári Nénharma]: Yikes, this isn't working well. My note to all the arena bosses: I just moved and classes are beginning, so it is very important that you all have individual responsibility
2004-09-13 [LonelyTylenol]: Oh geez... I don't have time... Much homework... Muchly much homework... I guess I'll sneak online when I'm done with it... Or maybe I'll end up doing it in the morning... we'll see...
2004-09-13 [LonelyTylenol]: Who put up "Fantasy <poll:0>"?
2004-09-13 [Poetry Lover]: I put that up so that Fantasy knew there was work, a challenger came in this week.
2004-09-14 [LonelyTylenol]: Oh. Okay...
2004-09-14 [Doormat]: T.T why didn't they tell us if our poems were dueling....don
2004-09-14 [Nightshadow]: Someone made a mistake in the long process of updating the categories, Diablo...it's easy to do. Apologies.
2004-09-15 [Doormat]: np
2004-09-20 [SeLoCeS]: Cant someone please cover Realistic pages for a few weeks as My laptop has been killed by a friend and i have no way to get online untill I get a new one, thankyou and sorry to anyone this effects
2004-09-20 [Tári Nénharma]: We've got you covered.
2004-09-26 [Doormat]: can you close it now :P
2004-09-26 [Tári Nénharma]: Close what?
2004-09-27 [Doormat]: nvm.
2004-10-04 [Tári Nénharma]: Thanks to everyone who updated the polls this week, great job!
2004-10-05 [Mercy's Angel]: How can I submit?
2004-10-05 [Nightshadow]: Reading The Rules is the first step. The rest will be explained there.
2004-10-05 [Mercy's Angel]: AH-hah! Thanks!!
2004-10-05 [IMOUT]: So let me get this straight...i can't use "foul language" or what? look at my poem on my page [IMOUT] it's near the bottom and tell me what you think about the language and if i can enter it.thanks
2004-10-05 [Nightshadow]: Hem...the swearing doesn't seem to really help the poem, so I wouldn't let it fly...but ask [Tári Nénharma] to review it she's the only vote that matters, anyway. (Okay so maybe [Tal Anduril] too but anyway....)
2004-10-05 [dark starlight]: can I just add a poem? is the duel just between two people?
2004-10-05 [Nightshadow]: Again, read The Rules and it will be explained there.
2004-10-05 [LonelyTylenol]: I think we should ask Tari to put the link to the rules on the actual page in h2 size... Then maybe people will see it. Not trying to make people feel stupid or anything, but if people would just read them it would be a lot better than people posting the same questions over and over again in the comments section.
2004-10-05 [Nightshadow]: That's a good idea.
2004-10-05 [Nightshadow]: ...if it weren't already in h2 size. *just noticed this* Well, banner's fixed, anywho...thank
2004-10-05 [LonelyTylenol]: Oh, hey... It is.. Haven't actually looked at the page in a long time... Because I rarely submit poetry, so I just look at the news and the comments, when there are new ones... Tari pointed out the typo to me though... That was funny... Eltown! I'm amazed no one noticed that before this last... month or whenever it was noticed.
2004-10-05 [Nightshadow]: Not Eltown...Elfow
2004-10-05 [Nightshadow]: Actually, it's been proven that just so long as something has the right letters, and the first and last are in the right place, most people won't notice if the middle is mixed up in casual reading. We don't really read every letter, just the words. *thinks it's nifty, but is a geek*
2004-10-05 [LonelyTylenol]: That's right...Yeah..
2004-10-05 [Nightshadow]: *nods* I typed that the first time, but wasn't quite sure...thanks for clearing that up. ^_^;
2004-10-08 [Moorn]: Um... I took the liberty of fixing the banner at Nightshadow's request. I hope nobody minds. ^_^
2004-10-08 [Moorn]: *snickers* And then I realized someone already fixed it. *dies* Ish what I get for paying attention. Um... look a bird! *runs*
2004-10-09 [Nightshadow]: Bird? Where?!
2004-10-11 [Tári Nénharma]: Is it carrying a coconut?
2004-10-11 [LonelyTylenol]: What kind of bird? That's the first thing that matters...
2004-10-15 [Moorn]: It was a swallow. And yes, it had a coconut.
2004-10-15 [LonelyTylenol]: LA LA LA... Changed my sn...
2004-10-24 [Estantia]: just a small q, i put my poem where it should go with the entry form thingy, but it's vanished and hasn't been put up...
2004-10-24 [Kayne]: I guess and I say I guess that means that it has been selected and is aaiting dualling. for what was it ? sad ? to make you think? and what was the name ?
2004-10-24 [LonelyTylenol]: I'm guessing it's either awaiting its turn to duel or for some reason it was deemed unsuitable for this wiki... But I'm leaning towards the first one, because I don't think there's been an inappropriate poem in here in a long long time... When was the last time, Tari?
2004-10-25 [Nightshadow]: Estantia, your poem is in the queue and awaiting its duel. They don't always go up the first week. Sad didn't go up at all because my net access was sadly lost all day, and I'm the moderator for that section. I'll put it up now, even though you'll lose a day's voting.
2004-10-25 [Linderel]: Umm... Why are all the categories in the Duelist Submissions Page protected by a password?
2004-10-25 [Nightshadow]: Because you submit on the submissions page. You know, where the sign says "post here." Tari will move your poems to their respective categories.
2004-10-25 [Linderel]: Oh, yeah, right. I had forgotten that. Thanks. ^.^;
2004-10-25 [Nightshadow]: Soitenly. ^_^
2004-10-26 [Estantia]: thankyou, it was just slightly unnerving that it utterly vanished, and my computer wasn't exactly behaving so i thought it might have somehow wiped it...
2004-10-26 [Nightshadow]: Gotcha. For future reference, they'll always vanish without notice. You'll be told if your poem isn't acceptable, or you'll be told when its duel actually begins. So if you don't know, don't panic, and if you are worried for some reason check the appropriate "-category" (links at the top of the duelist submissions page) to see whether your poem's there.
2004-10-26 [Doormat]: umm in Jovial the poem i'm dueling should belong in sad i think.....
2004-10-27 [Nightshadow]: *shrugs* The author made that call. Sorry.
2004-10-27 [Doormat]: well even the title: The Sad and Macabre Tale of Edward Green
2004-10-27 [LonelyTylenol]: Yeah, well... There's nothing we can do about it. A) The author made the call. B)It's already dueling so it's too late. C) If it was the author's mistake, look on the bright side. you're the competition and people aren't likely to vote for a sad poem to win the jovial duel. And if that sounded mean or like I'm telling people who to vote for, that's not how it was intended.)
2004-10-29 [LonelyTylenol]: Actually... I take that back... Rule # 2. WORKS SUBMITTED MUST FIT THE CATEGORY LISTED. Remember to evaluate your OWN work, because we won't do it for you. Any works not conforming to the category they are listed as will be REMOVED.
2004-10-29 [LonelyTylenol]: But I'd still say it's too late, personally...
2004-10-29 [Nightshadow]: That's a problem to be noted and enforced when the poems are first accepted. If you think there's a problem, message Tari, but there's no point in continuing this discussion here.
2004-11-06 [Karisla Sorium]: ha i should submit a poem kk...will do
2004-11-07 [FallaciousXFaith]: uh... could someone please help??? i dont know how to enter poems. i know im stupid but i cant help it!!!
2004-11-07 [Nightshadow]: Go to the rules. Read them all. Somewhere on that page, it will be explained. From there you just follow the yellow brick road.
2004-11-07 [Nightshadow]: Um...thanks to whomever updated sad. It's still mid-afternoon Sunday and was still going to do that...but thanks.... *blinks*
2004-11-08 [Karisla Sorium]: LimJay don't put yourself down...:S
2004-11-08 [Karisla Sorium]: Ps. Did you know America is a society based in fear...poor wee ones :(
2004-11-08 [Nightshadow]: Um...where did that come from, Sorium? Rather random. ^_^;
2004-11-13 [Moorn]: *blinks* Oh... I would've commented on that sooner, but I was afraid. ^_^
2004-11-13 [Nightshadow]: *snickers*
2004-11-14 [LonelyTylenol]: November 21th!
2004-11-14 [Nightshadow]: Chill, mallet...usual
2004-11-14 [LonelyTylenol]: I know. i was just pointing it out.
2004-11-15 [Nightshadow]: Hey Tari, now that all poems vote on their pages, should we delete the <vote on page> notes? Just a suggestion. :)
2004-11-15 [Nightshadow]: Thanks, Tal.
2004-12-07 [Orestez]: Now that I have submitted a poem, how do I actually duel?
2004-12-07 [Nightshadow]: You wait. You'll receive a message when it's your poem's turn to duel in the respective category.
2004-12-08 [Orestez]: Ok, Thank you
2004-12-08 [Martini_Kiss]: WOOO DUEL TIME!
2004-12-09 [LonelyTylenol]: There are only two going? Lacking poems or what?
2004-12-09 [Nightshadow]: Yeah...the whole Arena is hurting for entries. Everyone likes to be a tragic poet and everyone likes to think they're smart, so Deep Thoughts and Sad are the only two that are constantly filled.
2004-12-09 [LonelyTylenol]: That sucks... Well... I would write one, but I generally only write poems to let out depressed feelings... And... I've been cheerful lately. Sorry. Didn't mean to be! ^-^
2004-12-09 [Nightshadow]: For shame. ;)
2004-12-09 [LonelyTylenol]: Dang happy people!
2004-12-09 [Karisla Sorium]: hehe maybe i'll write a poem full of my random comments and put it into funny...and if i duel with nobody, you should let me automatically win, just because i did something random as usual? and if thats a usual thing to do...does it count as random?
2004-12-09 [Nightshadow]: Actually, if you write a humor poem, you'll duel next week with a poem called "Cliché Poet." ;)
2004-12-09 [Tal Anduril]: love also has a decent amount of entries; but with et down, the category didn't get updated til later in the week.
2004-12-09 [Nightshadow]: ET was down? *blink* How did I miss this? Seriously. Me. O.o
2004-12-09 [Tal Anduril]: Yeah it was down, check the news on main street.
2004-12-10 [Karisla Sorium]: well i wrote one and its terrible...and im not sure i like cliche poet :( made me grumpy i actually remember that poem better than my own
2004-12-12 [Tári Nénharma]: Check the news! Thanks for submitting.
2004-12-14 [Tal Anduril]: This is mainly for those that help with the wiki; though if you're considering helping (or have already volunteered and just need training) this is aimed at you as well. If you can't update on Sunday, either cause you'll be out of town, your dog ate your computer... whatever, send me a message and I'll look after your category. (Though I would appreciate it if you messaged at least a day or two before, that isn't required.) What just irks me, is the neglect of duties, yeah I know everyone's busy and I understand things come up last minute... but it's an on going problem. It's come to the point, where I feel compelled to say that if one more week passes, where I'm the only one to update...
2004-12-14 [Tal Anduril]: and no one felt the need to tell me they couldn't do so before hand (or messaged later, explaining why they couldn't carry out their obligation) then I'll wash my hands of the wiki... I just can't take it anymore.
2004-12-16 [blackenedrose*]: ey!..im new
2004-12-17 [Moorn]: If you can't get ahold of Tal for one reason or another, or he's just too busy, tell me about it and I'll try to pick up some of the slack if I can. Sci-fi really doesn't get many entrants yet anyway, so I would be glad to help if I can.
2004-12-21 [LonelyTylenol]: I don't suppose... Nightshadow, wasn't it? I don't suppose you have any clue what the numbers were for the deep thoughts poll, do you? (if it wasn't nightshadow, then... sorry to both the true person who sent it and to nightshadow, I guess).
2004-12-21 [Nightshadow]: I believe that they were three and five.
2004-12-21 [LonelyTylenol]: Thank you.
2004-12-23 [Karisla Sorium]: Tal_Anduril...
2004-12-23 [Nightshadow]: Um...it's tied 2-2. *blink*
2004-12-24 [blackenedrose*]: um...ive just voted
2004-12-24 [Nightshadow]: Okee. Thanks. You'll be the tiebreaker unless someone votes to tie by Sunday. ^_^
2004-12-29 [LonelyTylenol]: OH C'MON. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO HACK THIS PAGE?!
2004-12-29 [LonelyTylenol]: VIEW PREVIOUS VERSION TO SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT... I'LL REPORT THE IDIOT WHO DID IT TO THE GUARDS.
2004-12-29 [LonelyTylenol]: Whew... It's a relief that the other pages are password=prote
2004-12-29 [Tal Anduril]: Ok, I'm pissed. Since the main page of the wiki was "hacked" pretty much they deleted all the info and left a lil' calling card, how sweet... if I ever get my hands on them I'll rip them apart. (And I'm paranoid anyway.) To make a long story short I added passwords to most of the pages that didn't have them, ie the participating duelist's page. I did my best to go through and give all the houses access to those pages, but in case I missed a page you need to edit, send me a message or post a comment on this page and I'll take care of it.
2004-12-29 [Nightshadow]: Hacked? Boy, how clever it is to "hack" a page without a password.
2004-12-29 [LonelyTylenol]: yeah, I know... The best part: it was some eight-year-old girl. [asdasdasdasd].
2004-12-31 [blackenedrose*]: O_o how rude of her!!!...we shud all g and yell at her!
2004-12-31 [Karisla Sorium]: i doubt that would do much good guys and you know chances are she isn't actually 8 or even female *rolls eyes*
2004-12-31 [Nightshadow]: Please don't patronize. 90% of us realize that, and there's no reason to depricatingly state the obvious.
2004-12-31 [Doormat]: meh she/it is banned anyways
2004-12-31 [LonelyTylenol]: That's possible... And it's also possible that since she's been banned, she won't get the messages for a long long time.
2004-12-31 [Nightshadow]: Eh...if I had one guess, from the username, it's only someone who already has an account, who wanted to make some trouble without getting banned. The guards almost never ban IPs...only for repeat offenses. That, or someone leaving Elftown anyway.
2005-01-01 [Karisla Sorium]: Most probably...abo
2005-01-01 [Doormat]: it's funny how the mind works, but it could've been some other banned elftowner...ma
2005-01-01 [Nightshadow]: It's entirely possible. "Avenging oneself" by harassing civilians is terribly clever and dramatic, as we all know. *nods wisely*
2005-01-01 [blackenedrose*]: *nods as well*...anyway wat kinda name is asdsadadsd..et
2005-01-01 [Karisla Sorium]: Out of curiosity....i
2005-01-01 [blackenedrose*]: hey, anyone i think a friend put in 1 of my poems..she goes by the name of [Kanza] once called [yoshika]....is my poem here?
2005-01-01 [LonelyTylenol]: Yes... It was entered in one of the categories... I don't remember which... I don't know if it's dueling yet, but I think it was entered in the category that suited it and had the smallest waiting list... It should be starting up this week, if I recall correctly. (I was there when Tari eentered it). Yeah, it'll be starting in Realistic tomorrow sometime!
2005-01-01 [blackenedrose*]: thank u!
2005-01-01 [LonelyTylenol]: Yep. No problem. Note to any who have sent Tari a message since... the... 28th, I think, Tari's on vacation. She'll be back late tomorrow. She's in Nashville playing with the Pride of Minnesota (U of M marching band) at the football game... No, wait... She's home late tonight, I think... Yeah... She's coming back today, but it's by bus and I don't know what time they expect to arrive back. She'll probably sleep and then check elftown...
2005-01-01 [Nightshadow]: Karisla Sorium: They're separated by one vote. Nothing to be analyzed, chill. And your free verse is quite nice.
2005-01-01 [LonelyTylenol]: I'm sure it's good... I haven't read it but... I think a lot of people may be biased towards rhyming poems...
2005-01-01 [blackenedrose*]: well..i dont know, my poems are all free writing..so sometimes they rhyme and sometimes they dont
2005-01-01 [LonelyTylenol]: Mine too... Usually... I don't think mine do... By the way, Karisla, now you're winning, it looks like.
2005-01-02 [Karisla Sorium]: oh...lol..hmm.
2005-01-07 [Doormat]: wow...hacked again
2005-01-07 [♥Flames♥]: how mean is that? destroying people's wikis? freak!
2005-01-08 [Nightshadow]: For the record...editi
2005-01-08 [LonelyTylenol]: Does anyone recall the name of the last 'hacker.' I want to be sure that whoever did it was reported to the guards.
2005-01-09 [Tal Anduril]: [hammadde], calling card was signed DoMTeZ. (I haven't reported him yet, since I wasn't sure if someone else had already done so).
2005-01-09 [Tal Anduril]: For those of you who haven't noticed, the page now has a pass, those who help with the wiki have access to the page; message me if you have questions.
2005-01-13 [SeLoCeS]: yay im back to those who remember or know me
2005-01-13 [Tal Anduril]: Welcome back (",)
2005-01-17 [Poetry Lover]: welcome back!
2005-01-17 [blackenedrose*]: hey i dont know u but hey anyway!
2005-01-18 [Moorn]: There're some messages to be sent and some winner badges to give out today. A partial list of the winners and not-winners this week can be found in the most recent diary entry on my house, and I believe Tari has the rest. Since nobody updated their categories yesterday, and since the database crashed, it'll need to be done today. If someone feels froggy, that is. ^_^ If you DO decide to go ahead and send messages or give out the winner badges, make sure you post whose you've taken care of here, or somewhere we can all see it! If not, I'll do as much of it as I can tonight after WWE Raw. ^_^
2005-01-18 [Moorn]: Tari and I took care of the categories this morning. So all that remains to be done is the messaging. ^_^ And the biting.
2005-01-18 [Tal Anduril]: Thanks, elftown was down for me all of Sunday, seems most of the messages sent that day were lost anyway due to the crash, so guess it works out for the best.
2005-01-18 [Moorn]: Yeah, it was pretty chaotic. It even went down once while Tari and I were working on it this morning. ^_^ Okay people listen up! I have taken care of informing the winners and un-winners for Sunday's duels in the Nature, Sad, and Realistic categories.
2005-01-18 [Moorn]: I don't have the information on the winners in the other categories though, so if anybody knows, please take care of it or tell me or whatever. Oh... I believe Jovial was tied, too.
2005-01-18 [SeLoCeS]: thankyou Moorn I am the one responcible for missing Realistic you are more than welcome to kick me up the butt, but i was also unable to do anything in et
2005-01-18 [Moorn]: Sunday saw some screwy circumstances, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. ^_^
2005-01-19 [Moorn]: Ehm, I have a question. I entered a poem into the Valentine's day (National Singles Awareness Day) competition, and I wondered, would it still be eligible to compete here?
2005-01-19 [Tal Anduril]: I don't think that there's anything in the rules against it. Wouldn't hurt to have a second opinion though.
2005-01-19 [LonelyTylenol]: Question... Since Elftown crashed, and all messages since... sometime Sunday the 16th are lost, does that mean that the people have to be re-messaged?
2005-01-19 [Moorn]: After the looooong downtime on Monday, I believe that Hedda fixed the message system... I know because one of the people that I messaged with their poetry win did reply to me. So other than the categories that I listed, I believe yes, unless someone's done one since Monday without telling me.
2005-01-20 [LonelyTylenol]: Oh. Okay!
2005-01-23 [Moorn]: *stands in front of the door, steel folding chair in hand* Sunday, everybody, 'tis Sunday. *holds up chair, proceeds to smack a random passerby with it* Try not to forget! ^_^
2005-01-24 [Moorn]: *waves chair in the air*
2005-01-24 [Moorn]: *puts down the chair* As only Tal managed to update his category today, I have a lot of people to bite and kick. This is not cool at all, people.
2005-01-24 [Moorn]: Okay, thanks in great part to [Nightshadow] and myself, the unattended categories were attended. Also, note that just about every category that is not currently dueling is also in need of a challenger. Just food for thought. ^_^
2005-01-26 [Moorn]: I slapped a link to No Time to Update? on the News section. Pay heed to it, please people! Else there may be a time when violent smackings befall you!
2005-01-27 [Masquerade Doll]: just fyi, participating duelists needs updated...sorr
2005-01-27 [Moorn]: I have a better idea. Why don't we just eliminate participating duelists altogether? It just comes across as unnecessary to me, and it just makes more work for the people who have to update every Sunday. How about it? Anyone agree? Disagree? Anyone breathing in here?
2005-01-27 [Nightshadow]: Agree. Twice. Three times. If the duels are supposed to be anonymous, why do we have that page?
2005-01-27 [LonelyTylenol]: I second the motion... And totally agree... Or... third it
2005-01-27 [Moorn]: Excellent! *feels like a revolutionary* I mean, call it laziness, but I prefer to call it efficiency. I think the simpler it is to update, the less often people will forget to update *COUGH*. So boshes, how about it?
2005-01-27 [Moorn]: Here's another interesting development. All the votes in every wikipoll I've seen, both here and at my huggers' contest, have been reset to zero. Now, the graphs are still there, and seem accurate, but the number of votes per category has been reset. I believe it is related to the caching of data that Hedda did this morning, but I'm not sure on that. If anybody else is seeing different, let me know.
2005-01-27 [LonelyTylenol]: All poll numbers are showing up for me... You mean where it says the number of votes next to the item to vote for, right? And the graphs are working as well...
2005-01-27 [Moorn]: I reported it in the bug forum early this morning, and Hedda fixed it. ^_^
2005-01-27 [Tal Anduril]: The reason the participating duelists page is there, is partly due to the fact that it was created with that page; at one point we did have a poll up asking if the page was desired (useful/used) since I was going to remove to cut down on the steps needed to maintain the pages; and people asked that it be kept so it was.
2005-01-28 [Nightshadow]: Ah. Gotcha.
2005-01-28 [Moorn]: Still, I'd like it to bring it back up for consideration to be removed. If that's all right with everybody.
2005-01-28 [Tal Anduril]: Perhaps it's just me, but I don't find much value (and just more hassle on our part) in maintaining the The Dueling Arena and Participating Duelists pages.
2005-01-28 [Moorn]: It's not just you. ^_^ That's what we've been talking about, although the Dueling Arena had escaped my attention. So how about it? Let's just axe them, and save ourselves the trouble. ^_^
2005-01-28 [LonelyTylenol]: Yeah... I guess the Dueling Arena isn't needed anymore... I used to think it was useful... Don't remember why... But, since the tied duels are here on the main page, how 'bout the waiting ones are listed too? I think that would totally eliminate the purpose of the Dueling Arena.
